The Land called Bulgaria

Bulgaria is an amazing combination of spectacular scenery and nature, fascinating history and unique culture. It is a land of mountains, rich bio diversity, folk music and crafts, mountain villages, an old-world way of life with a Mediterranean flavor with modern up to date cities that are truly cosmopolitan in culture and fashion.

Apart from the fact that it has become one of Europe's latest property hotspot! Bulgaria is a country of outstanding natural beauty where great attention is paid to environmental protection and is home to several UNESCO world heritage sites. There are 49 protected territories, 17 biosphere reserves (the largest number in Europe), 3 national parks, 9 natural parks, 82 reserves, 3055 protected natural sites, 63 protected plants, 419 protected animals and the air and waters are amongst the least polluted in Europe.

A quiet and largely rural country in S E Europe, about the same size as England but with a population of only around 8 and a half million.

For many years Bulgaria has been the favored holiday destination for Eastern Europeans, but in recent years it has opened its doors to the rest of the world. Its mountains, lakes, beaches and old-fashioned rural tranquillity offer a glimpse of Europe that has long since disappeared under the noise of traffic and concrete in Western Europe.

Most of the beautiful countryside of Bulgaria remains unexplored to foreign buyers. Those living in the highly developed Western European countries will be surprised to find rural territories of Bulgaria untouched by the modern urban life, pure nature and unspoiled hard working friendly people, who do not speak a foreign language, but will be more than happy to become your friends and help you all they can.

Almost all of countryside properties in Bulgaria have electricity and running water. All villages have telephone lines, mobile phone coverage, TV and radio broadcasting, many of them have cable TV with international channels. Even with an undeveloped infrastructure, all rural areas have tarmac roads, post offices, and regular bus transport to the bigger towns, local food and other shops, bars/restaurants, petrol stations, local authorities. Even the most rural of villages are easily accessible (except those in very high mountain areas).

Most villages are within easy reach of bigger or regional towns with a wider range of amenities - Internet cafes, Cinemas, Theaters, Train Stations, Hospitals, Schools and cultural activities, etc

Bulgarian old-world traditions

The multifarious people that passed through Bulgaria's territory created a land of rich traditions. Vibrant folklore is seen in villages, in performances by world-renown song and dance troupes, and in pre-Christian pagan rituals. Bulgaria is known for its wonderful architecture, monasteries, wine, cuisine, and art.
